“Hi Judy,
I wanted to take a minute to say thanks for all your help so far. Jenny has learned so much. I have so many people say how well behaved she is. But most of all Xuan is 100% satisfied with how she acts with her too. I think that you did a great job teaching her and teaching us. Again thanks for your help. Money well spent, and I tell everyone.”

“Hi Judy,

Thank you for the picture and the encouragement. I am learning so much from your classes. I have taken a fair amount of classes but they always focused on learning how to make your dog do something, like sit, down, stay, but with little or no information on why dogs behave as they do. Your classes have helped me understand my dogs better and my interaction with them. I hope I am becoming a better dog companion. I made so many mistakes with both of my dogs. But Finnegan and Baylie are really loves and seem to forgive me for being human.”

“Good morning,

I wanted to send you an update about Royce and I. I have been on vacation since December 24th, and have been taking him to Shaw Park in Gorham to let out some energy. We have been practicing the off leash go play and come commands. So far he has done an incredible job!! Yesterday we encountered a person walking on the path while he was off leash which I decided to continue to let him be off. The person walked by, said “Hi” and Royce stayed right behind me, didn’t bark or try to walk with him. He did try to sneak a sniff on the way by, but when I said come, he listened!! So far this is the only encounter we have had to test him, but as of now I am very pleased with his progress.”

“Judy,
Yes!!!! I will make as many classes as I can. Thank you for being flexible with us. I hope you are rubbing off on me because I am so impressed with how you handle so many different situations with such very different dogs and issues.”

“Hi Judy,
Thank you so much for helping us with Marty. We have already seen results using the techniques you gave us. Yesterday we took Marty to Portland for Zach's baseball clinic. I walked Marty while Zach was in the clinic. Marty wanted to bite at the leash. Every time he did I would stop, tell him to leave it, and we didn't continue until he dropped it. I praised him and treated him. By the end, he was dropping it as soon as I said leave it and actually would start to grab it and stop!

Zach and Josh have been using the "ragdoll" method to get him to stop biting and playing rough with their hands/pant legs etc. Zach has had the most success with getting Marty to stop. Also, Zach will not hold Marty by the scruff again. I had told him not to do that but, as you know with teens, sometimes that have to hear it from someone besides their parent! He feels really bad that it may have been causing Marty stress and fear. With Josh, I have had to intervene more as you suggested when Marty is grabbing at his clothes/hands. It has been working well. Yesterday, Marty and Josh were playing outside. Marty got very excited and would not let go of Josh's sweatshirt sleeve. I went out, told him "all done", stepped in between Marty and Josh. Marty let go and trotted off! He got a big praise!

You helped Paul tremendously! He really was unsure of how to handle Marty. Paul feels more confident now that he knows what techniques to use to correct Marty's behavior, that treats are OK, playing tug of war is OK, and letting Marty win isn't going to cause him to be aggressive. Now that Paul is more relaxed about some of these issues, he can enjoy Marty more!”

“Judy,
This is great! You have given me so much info to work with. I have taken the dogs for a bike ride everyday since I have met with you and think they are doing great. Yogi has learned “wait” really well and has gone by several barking dogs and has done wonderful. Thanks again. I am re-excited about my pups and not so frustrated.”

“Judy,
I have to tell you that Digger has been great over the past week. I really think you are the "Dog Whisperer"! We went to TB park last night again and he had his patience tested a few times and did great. I love taking him there and wanted to thank you for the work you have done with him.”

-- K. Bradbury, South Portland, Maine

“It was a pleasure meeting you, Judy! Your directions on “Leave-it” will be so helpful. Matter of fact, I was raking the lawn when I noticed Duncan was digging a hole. I said “leave it” and he walked away! Thank you very much for taking the time for us and volunteering your help. We really appreciate it!”

“I just wanted to let you know that Buddyʼs new family told us he is doing great and enjoying his trips to the dog park.

Thank you for fostering Buddy and giving him the personal attention, exercise and training he needed so that he could transition into his new life!”

-- Jessica, Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland

“Judy - Heard you are officially in business! There will be lots of well behaved dogs in Maine! You are definitely great with dogs as well as people!”
